Festival of Trees

Sunday, December 22, 2024

Get ready to kick off the holiday season with a touch of magic as we introduce the Festival of Trees in downtown Highland! Our charming streets will soon be adorned with beautifully decorated Christmas trees, each sponsored by local businesses, organizations, and families. This heartwarming event allows locals to showcase their creativity and holiday spirit while spreading joy throughout the community.

Throughout December, these festively adorned trees will grace our streets, creating a whimsical and festive atmosphere for all to enjoy. And don’t forget to keep an eye on our Facebook page, where residents can cast their votes for their favorite decorated tree, adding a dash of friendly competition to the festivities. Join us for the Festival of Trees, and let’s light up the season together!

The trees will be installed the week of November 18th and will be available to decorate the week of November 25th. All trees must be decorated completely by December 2nd. Once all trees are decorated the public will vote on Facebook and a “People’s Choice” Winner will be Crowned!
  • You may pick up the number to your tree’s location and LED lights at Maher/Highland Feed and Supply in Downtown Highland Station the week of November 25th.
  • Decorations MUST be tied or wired securely to your tree to resist high winds, rain, snow and vandalism. Regular ornament hangers do NOT work. All décor must be “family friendly” items.
  • Thank you/recognition will be provided in local publications, online and on Facebook.
  • Cut off for applications is Friday November 15th 2024.
  • All decorations and lights must be retrieved by January 6th so the Highland Downtown Development Authority can dispose of the trees environmentally.
